Hermanus, officially the Whale Capital of South Africa, is less than 90 minutes drive away from Cape Town and most of the other beautiful and historic places you would like to see while visiting the region or being in sunny South Africa.

Beautiful Abalone is situated in 4 Strand Street Westcliff, a quiet area very close to the centre of all the activities Hermanus has to offer. Yet it is far away enough from the town’s busy streets so that you can enjoy your holiday in comfort and serenity. And of course, close enough to the sea so that you can breathe the wonderful champagne air and go for endless strolls on the cliff path that literary stretches for miles and miles.

Beautiful Abalone is the ideal house for a big family, a group of friends or tourists that want to explore the splendour of Hermanus and the sight of whales with their tales visible above the surface of the ocean.

The house, loft and separate flat will cater for your every need while relaxing in one of the prettiest tourist attractions in South Africa.

THE HOUSE ITSELF sleeps six and consists of the following:

  • An open plan living area with tiled floors for easy cleaning.
  • A DSTV HD Full Bouquet
  • The table with it’s comfortable chairs, seats six and there is a counter with more chairs where kids or extra quests can eat.
  • Chances are good that the kitchen is even better equipped than the one you’ve got at home. It is tasteful with a stainless steel oven and stove top and has a separate scullery for late evenings when you would rather relax than washing up the dishes. Not that you really need to worry. A dishwasher is on stand-by . . . There are also a microwave oven, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer combination, percolator and a toaster.
  • The bedrooms have wonderful and tasteful old world charm and open up on the garden where you can just sit and enjoy the African sun whilst watching the rich birdlife and quietness, the area has to offer.
  • Laminated flooring finishes the picture.
  • The best feature of the house is definitely the entertainment and barbeque area at the back. Neither wind nor rain will bother you. The shutter roof opens and closes and you always get the better of two worlds depending on sunshine or rain.
  • There is a safe in which you can put your precious belongings to ensure your dream holiday does not turn into a nightmare. A hair dryer is also at hand.
  • Two full bathrooms are available – one en-suite. So don’t worry if you are in a hurry. You will be ready in time to go and eat out at one of the restaurants at the Old Harbour or go on a trip to the surrounding towns like Stanford, Greyton or Kleinmond!
  • Secure garage parking and an extra parking space behind high gates are available.
  • The plot is fully walled with strong gates and an activated alarm system to ensure that no uninvited guests spoil your holiday.

THE LOFT also sleeps four and consists of:

  • A full bedroom with bathroom.
  • A small kitchenette with a refrigerator where you can make a cup of tea without having to go downstairs.
  • A corner with chairs and a couch where you can relax in front of your own TV.

Even if grandma and her playboy or your noisy teenagers come along, it would not be a problem at Beautiful Abalone.

There is a SEPERATE SECLUDED FLAT, sleeping two. It consists of:

  • A DSTV HD Full Bouquet
  • Fully equipped kitchenette with all the features you will find in the kitchen of the main house.
    Separate barbeque.
  • Separate entrance that makes sure you enjoy quietness even if the teenagers stay out late.
    Full bathroom that is en-suite to the bedroom.

Directions from Cape Town::

Travel along the N2 towards Caledon over Sir Lowry’s Pass and through the Elgin Valley. At Botriver (approximately 100 km from Cape Town) take the Hermanus R43 off ramp. Travel approximately 28 km until you reach the centre of Hermanus.

As you enter town you will see a Shell Petrol Station, turn right towards the sea. Turn right again at the T-Junction into Marine Drive. Continue on this road which changes into Westcliff Drive. After you pass the first road to turn off to the left, turn right into the second street on your right; Strand Street. The house is the 2nd on the right.

Directions from Garden Route:

Travel west on the N2 towards Cape Town – pass through Riversdale and approximately 60km after Riversdale turn left towards Stanford. At Stanford take the R43 to Hermanus.

Continue through Hermanus until you reach the town centre. You will see a Shell Petrol Station on your left, directly after turn left towards the sea. Turn right at the T-Junction into Marine Drive. Continue on this road which changes into Westcliff Drive. After you pass the first road to turn off to the left, turn right into the second street on your right; Strand Street. The house is the 2nd on the right.
